Cold Air When You Need It Most
There’s nothing worse than a broken A/C in a Tampa summer. At Tampa Bay Quick Lube, we provide complete auto A/C and heating service, from a quick refrigerant recharge to a full compressor replacement. Our certified technicians work on all makes and models and can diagnose any A/C or heating issue accurately the first time, no guess and replace.
Florida heat puts a serious strain on vehicle A/C systems. Compressors run harder, refrigerant leaks become more common, and worn components fail faster than they would in cooler climates. We see customers every week whose A/C started blowing warm during the first 90 degree week of the year. The good news: most A/C problems are fixable, and the sooner you get it in, the less it usually costs.
If your A/C is blowing warm, blowing weak, making noise, smelling musty, or not blowing at all, bring it in. We’ll diagnose the issue and walk you through your options. Heater not working in winter? We handle that too, from heater cores to blend door actuators, so your cabin stays comfortable year round.

Why Tampa Drivers Trust Us for A/C & Heating Service
Certified Technicians on Modern Systems
Our certified techs are trained on modern A/C systems for all makes and models, including hybrids, EVs, and newer vehicles running R1234yf refrigerant (which most chain shops still can't service).

Tampa A/C systems work harder than just about anywhere in the country. We see and solve A/C problems daily that shops in cooler climates rarely encounter. That's not marketing, that's the truth of running a Tampa shop.
Transparent Pricing
You get a clear quote after the diagnostic, in plain English. We tell you what's worn, what's safety related, and what can wait. No surprise charges.
6 Month Parts Warranty
Every A/C and heating job is backed by our 6 month parts warranty. If a compressor, condenser, or any other part we installed doesn't hold up, bring it back. We make it right.

A/C & Heating Service FAQs
Why is my car's A/C blowing warm air?
The most common causes are low refrigerant from a leak, a failing compressor, a clogged cabin filter, a stuck blend door, or an electrical issue. Florida heat makes leaks more likely. We diagnose the exact cause, not just guess.
How much does an A/C recharge cost in Tampa?
We give you a clear quote after we check the system. Important note: simply recharging without finding the leak is a temporary fix. We always recommend finding and fixing the leak first, so you’re not back in our shop (or stuck in traffic with no A/C) a few months later.
How often should I have my A/C serviced?
At least once a year, ideally in spring before Tampa summer heat hits. A cabin filter check every 12,000 to 15,000 miles also keeps airflow strong and prevents musty smells.
How long does A/C service take?
A simple recharge takes under an hour. A full diagnostic with leak detection takes 1 to 2 hours. Major repairs (compressor, evaporator core) can take a full day. We give you a clear time estimate before starting.
Can my A/C system damage my engine?
Indirectly, yes. A failing compressor can seize and damage the serpentine belt, which then takes out the alternator, water pump, and power steering. Catching A/C issues early prevents much bigger problems.
Why does my A/C smell musty?
Almost always mold or mildew growing on the evaporator coil or in a damp cabin filter, very common in Florida humidity. A cabin filter replacement plus evaporator cleaning usually fixes it.
Do you service newer cars with R1234yf refrigerant?
Yes. Many newer vehicles (2017+) use R1234yf, which requires different equipment and is much more expensive than R134a. We’re equipped for both.
What about my heater?
We service vehicle heating systems too: heater cores, blend door actuators, blower motors, and thermostats. If your heater isn’t blowing warm (or warm enough), we’ll figure out why. This often ties into cooling system issues, since the heater core uses engine coolant.
My A/C is cold at highway speeds but warm at idle. What's wrong?
Usually a weak condenser fan, low refrigerant, or a failing compressor clutch. All fixable, but it’s a sign the system needs attention soon.
Do I need an appointment for A/C service?
Walk ins are welcome (Mon to Fri 8am to 6pm, Sat 8am to 4pm), but in peak summer the shop fills up fast. Booking ahead is the smart play.
